New Year Reflection
I have returned to Americaland. Christmas went well, but I didn’t do half the stuff I wanted to do while back home. This past year has been pretty interesting. Although 2007 was full of new experiences for me, I still feel very unsettled in life. Hopefully 2008 will bring more clarity and more opportunity. Happy New Year everyone!

Getting closer to a 24 hour society
One thing I love about the United States is the ease of which I can be a consumer. It blows me away that I have access to several 24-hour grocery stores, can hang out at a Borders Bookstore until 11 pm on a Sunday, and can catch a movie that starts well after midnight. Holiday hours here are even more amazing. My local mall is open until 10pm, and the attached department stores are open...
I love the dismounts.
Christmas Plans
I am heading “home” (to Ontario, Canada) on the 22nd for a week of holiday cheer. I actually really love Christmas, and my mom goes all out with the festive decorations, including two Christmas trees! She also makes the most ridiculous amount of food - her standard is a 30 pound turkey for only 10 people. Although I haven’t started my Christmas shopping yet (which of course is...

The Mitchell Report →
Gregg Zaun was never my hero, but then he took steroids, and he still wasn’t my hero. There are a few Jays, both past and present, who ended up on the list.
Goodbye, OHIP.
I had my first foray into the American health care system this weekend. Surprisingly, it was more pleasant and straightforward than I expected…then again, I know I’m lucky since I have health insurance (which, unfortunately, costs around $250 a month). I don’t have a doctor here yet (still researching), but I managed to find an Urgent Care clinic (known as a Walk-In clinic in...

Tumblr and Reblogging
I’m not sure how I feel about Tumblr reblogging. My Dashboard is full of reblogs, and it seems like things are continually passed around. I realize that reblogging is one of the most unique features about Tumblr, but at the same time, I don’t think it fits with how I personally use my Tumblr. There are a lot of interesting arguments over at the Ning Tumblr community in support of...
